Stand Up NY’s booming Korean American comedy phenomenon “K-Comedy” is coming to Los Angeles, where the largest Korean population lives outside of Korea. From K-Pop, K-Drama, K-Wave (cinema) to K-Beauty, “Koreans are having a moment” (Ron Song, CBS), and everything about “K” is a global phenomenon. K-Comedy Productions at Stand Up NY is the premier showcase for Korean American stand-up comedy talent. K-Comedy was previously presented in a series of sold-out shows in Times Square, New York, and took over The Hall at Live! Casino & Hotel in Maryland with starlit Korean comics and friends, other Asian talents, celebrating Korean and Asian identity and culture through standup comedy.
The Velvet Martini Lounge (4349 Tujunga Ave, Studio City, CA 91604), Stand Up NY’s LA venue presents this unique and dynamic all-Korean comedy show on Tuesday, August 25. The show starts at 7:30 PM, with doors opening at 6:00 PM. Tickets are on sale now at STANDUPNY.COM or via the tix link here. This event is for ages 18+.

Comedian Bios
Peter S. Kim is an accomplished comedian, writer, and actor whose relatable, character-driven comedy style and sharp wit have earned him praise from critics as a "master storyteller". Named a Just For Laughs New Face of Comedy in 2021, his highest-profile television credits include on-screen roles in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Shrinking, and Frasier, voicing a series regular on Amazon's Fairfax, and writing for FOX's HouseBroken. Adding to his impressive resume, Kim recently expanded his on-screen presence into feature films, garnering praise for his performance as Paul in the critically acclaimed 2024 romantic comedy A Nice Indian Boy.
Paul "PK" Kim is a veteran stand-up comedian whose energetic, observational comedy style blends uplifting humor with stories from his unique upbringing as a self-described "Preacher's Kid". He is a regular performer at the World Famous Laugh Factory, won the Grand Prize at Uncle Clyde's Comedy Cup out of 100 competing comics, and has brought his act to over 100 universities nationwide. His highest credits extend beyond the comedy stage, as he was honored at the White House as a Champion of Change for his community work founding the global Asian talent showcase “Kollaboration” and co-founding Liberty in North Korea (LiNK).
Ron Song is a charismatic, Los Angeles-based comedian and actor known for his sharp wit and deadpan delivery. His distinct comedy style relies on low-key, dry conversational storytelling, utilizing a brilliant, slow-burn comedic timing to tackle culture, daily life, and modern absurdities. On television, he achieved widespread recognition for his breakout starring role as Ken Choi in Freevee's Emmy-nominated comedy series Jury Duty. His other high-profile acting credits include appearances in Ryan Murphy's FX series Grotesquerie, CBS's FBI: Most Wanted, Netflix's Running Point, and Nickelodeon's Erin & Aaron. Ron Song is in the latest Steven Spielberg’s film Disclosure Day.
Kenneth Chang, aka Saint Kenneth, is a Korean American comedian, filmmaker, and pastor who grew up in Los Angeles. He is the Executive Director of Uncommon Voices Collective, co-creator of the award-winning short film Refuse, and writer/director of the feature Bad Shepherd (development). His comedy explores faith, family, Asian American identity, and the absurdity of our current world, and whether we can still find our way back to something better.
Diana Hong is a Korean American stand-up comedian and writer whose comedy style is often described as being like the ocean: deep, dark, and salty. Drawing from her background as a professional golfer and the only child of Korean immigrants, she tackles serious topics with relatable personal anecdotes that take audiences on an emotional yet hilarious journey. Her highest credits include appearing on Fuse TV's "We Need to Talk About America," opening for Joel Kim Booster at the Netflix is a Joke Fest, and winning Best of Fest at the 2022 Big Pine Comedy Festival.
MJ Standup Korean aka Dr. Mina Cheon is a prominent Korean political pop artist, scholar, and former art college dean currently based in New York. Her unique comedy style blends her academic background with stand-up, featuring observational, satiric, and dark romantic humor driven by art history jokes and message-driven social commentary. Merging the worlds of visual art and standup, her performance includes MJ's Hour: K-Comedy Art Activism at institutions like Whitman College, as well as performing in and producing cultural events for the AHL Foundation, KODA NY, and the series Stand Up NY Presents K-Comedy. As a scholar and creative visionary who has mounted major retrospectives and authored books like Shamanism + Cyberspace (Aptropos Press, 2009), she uses her platform to bridge the gap between socio-political activism and the healing power of laughter. She is the producer of Global K-Comedy Productions and a part of the Stand Up NY team, the Chief Talent Curator and Head of Creative Programming.
